We would like to personally invite you to join us at the annual Cisco Routing / Technologies Summit, to be held April 2nd - 3rd, at Cisco Systems in Paris. This Summit is the continuation of a successful technology program run annually for over 5 years.
The Summit is an exclusive opportunity to interact and build relationships with Cisco executives and technical leaders.
The event will provide an update on Cisco strategy and leadership in Routing and Networking Technologies as they impact all market sectors. The event is also an opportunity to highlight new requirements.
We will demonstrate Cisco's Technology leadership and discuss our strategies and will provide customers with information to help future proof network designs. There will be many "Subject Matter Experts" available in Paris.
The event will also be available remotely (via WebEx) so that you can easily follow the sessions and ask questions. Please note if you want to only join the webex there is no need to request a ticket from this site

Cisco Fellow Fred Baker has been involved in the development of the Internet since the late 1980's. He has served as the Chair of the IETF, chaired several working groups, and written or edited numerous RFCs. He now chairs the IETF's IPv6 Operations Working Group, working with the operational community on deployment issues.
Matthias Falkner
Dr. Matthias Falkner joined Cisco 11 years ago and is currently a Distinguished Technical Marketing Engineer in Cisco’s Services Routing Technology Group. He focuses on Enterprise and SP Edge architectures, and on the evolution of next generation networking services in particular. Dr. Falkner works on the development of Cisco's midrange router portfolio, specialising in technologies such as High-Availability, Service Integration, Quality of Service, and Broadband.
Toerless Eckert
Toerless is a Principal Engineer in the Systems and Technology Architecture team in Cisco's Network Software and Systems Technology Group (NSSTG). As an architect, he is bridging the gap between between customers and Cisco development.
Aamer Akhter
Aamer Akhter, CCIE # 4543 (R&S, C&S), has over 14 years of experience in the networking industry and is responsible for the deployment and technical marketing of enterprise medianet systems and is the architect for the medianet video monitoring solution. Previously, he had been responsible for deployment of Performance Routing, Wan-Optimization systems, Video systems, Routing Protocols, NBAR and NetFlow. He joined Cisco in the Technical Assistance Center (TAC), and has worked in various capacities for Cisco, supporting large Service Provider and Enterprise Customers by testing, designing and deploying Layer 2 and MPLS/VPN networks.
Gerd Pflueger is a Consulting Systems Engineer within Cisco Central Europe based in Munich. As the leader for routing and switching technology and the VT team in Germany he is primarily responsible for large projects in the WAN, LAN and Datacenter in the Enterprise. Additionally he works as an interface into the Cisco Central Europe management and the corporate business units and covers routing and switching at fairs/conferences/exhibitions. Gerd's actual technical focus is on infrastructure for campus and datacenter with MPLS, OTV, FabricPath and LISP.
Samuel Pasquier is Product Manager for the Catalyst 6500 within the Scalable Network Business Unit (SNBU). In his current role, he is responsible for driving product strategy and roadmap for the Catalyst 6500 series switches. Samuel focuses primarily on the software roadmap for NetFlow and Security/TrustSec as well as the hardware roadmap for the 10G/40G/100G modules on the Catalyst 6500.
Samuel has been with Cisco Systems since 2004. Prior to his current role, Samuel spent 6 years in Catalyst 6500 engineering team, most recently as a Software Technical Leader. He designed, implemented and sustained several key infrastructure features on the platform. With this previous experience, Samuel has a very deep understanding of the Catalyst 6500 platform and architecture.
Samuel holds a Master Degree in Computer Science from "Ecole pour l'informatique et les techniques avancees" (EPITA) in France and a Master's Certificate in Project Management from the George Washington University School of Business. Samuel is fluent in French.

Alain is a 25 years veteran of the networking industry and has been with Cisco Systems for seventeen years. He is currently the Senior Director, leading IPv6 High Impact Program for Cisco, across all product lines.
IPv4 exhaustion and IPv6 transition is one of the most challenging technology transition, the Internet and IT industry by enlarge, have had to deal with. Although IPv6 has been specified almost two decades ago, its deployment and customer transition have not happen fast enough to cope with the tremendous growth of the Internet and the exhaustion of IPv4 address space. Cisco is investing a tremendous amount of resources and intellectual capital in leading this transition with innovative technology, standardization leadership and its unparalleled knowledge of IP architectures and direct customer engagement.
Alain and his team are at the very core of this massive industry transition and directly involved from “definition, standardization to delivery” of the technology and architectures, underpinning IPv6 transition, along with the technology development and product engineering groups across Cisco.
Fiocco was one of the first CCIE in 1992. He joined Cisco in 1995 as a Technology Consultant, and has been involved in some of the largest Network design projects commissioned by European Service Providers in the early days of Internet growth. The scope of his accomplishments includes expertise in SP access, edge and IP core technologies and architecture. He actively participates in the definition, specification and deployment of innovative services and all underlying technologies. He joined Network Software Engineering group in 2006, and drove IOS technology and architecture roadmap, the last five years.
In 2006 Alain and his family relocated from France to Cisco Corporate in San Jose, California. After enjoying living in San Francisco Bay area for five years He recently moved back to Paris with his family.
Rajiv Asati, a Distinguished Engineer with ~12 yrs of Cisco life, is responsible for driving "NGN" architecture & strategies. During his Cisco career, he has worked with 100s of large Service Providers, (Fortune500) Enterprises, Govt./Universities etc., around the world, designing, deploying large scale IP and MPLS based triple-play networks. He incubated the 1st IP NGN system (CESNA) for Cable SPs and led its world-wide adoption since 2006. He is a Subject Matter Expert, a key go-to technical resource, and well respected thought-leader across many key IP/NGN technologies (IP/MPLS, Routing, Multicast, L2/L3VPN, IPv6, QoS, Video etc). He has ~40 Patents (issued/pending), CCIE certification, and written 100+ engineering documents/design guides/white-papers. He also works very closely with the development engineering to drive the forward-looking features. Rajiv has presented at numerous external & internal conferences/seminars CiscoLive, MPLS Congress, SEVTs, EBCs, APRICOT etc. since 2003. He was one of the featured Speakers on ciscolive.com in 2011. His ongoing industry standards contributions IETF (10+ RFCs & drafts) and CableLabs (BSoD L2VPN, DPoEPON, DOCSIS 3.0 OSSI & MEF specifications). Prior to joining Cisco, Rajiv worked with 'AT&T Labs' to design & deploy Advanced Intelligent Networks (AIN), and Nortel to develop the SS7 & ISDN protocols.
At Cisco, Yves focuses on Next Generation Ethernet, with a special focus on Broadband Access and Aggregation, Carrier Ethernet and Datacenters, where he aids customers with designs and consultancy.
Yves is a member of IEEE, the Metro Ethernet Forum and is actively participating in the Broadband Forum, where Ethernet is a hot topic these days.
Being part of the development organisation, Yves is very heavily involved with various Cisco departments in the realms of Carrier, Broadband, Converged and Enhanced Ethernet, aided by feedback from stakeholders like Customers, the Cisco sales force and his own focus on industry fora.
Yves has a Masters Degree in Computer Engineering from the Technical University in Antwerp, Belgium.
In his free-time Yves plays quite loud guitar and writes, performs and records his own music.
Simon Spraggs is a Distinguished Consulting Engineer working in the Chief Architect's office at Cisco Systems. In this role he works with a wide range of service providers around the world assessing and developing new SP technologies and architectures. Currently Simon is working on a number of projects including closer integration between the IP and optical layers and how packet based networks can provide guaranteed bandwidth services.
Simon has worked for Cisco since 1995 and has extensive knowledge of Enterprise and Service Provider networking. Prior to Cisco Simon worked at IBM for 10 years covering all IBM and IP protocols in a number of roles ranging from operations to consultancy.
Michael Behringer works at Cisco Systems as a distinguished engineer, where he focuses on service provider core and security issues, such as MPLS security, NGN security, and Denial-of-Service attack prevention.
Prior to joining Cisco in 1998, he worked at the European Internet
Service Provider DANTE, based in Cambridge, UK. Here he attained the position of senior network engineer and was responsible for the design and implementation of DANTE's pan-European networks.
Michael holds a diploma in computer science from the Technical University of Munich. He is an active member of the IETF, and has published several papers, RFCs, and a book on MPLS VPN security.
IJsbrand Wijnands is a Principal Engineer in the IOX XR development group working on Multicast and MPLS. IJsbrand has been involved in Multicast for about 12 years working on many different aspects of multicast, like PIM, IGMP, MSDP and MVPN. More recently IJsbrand has worked on the integration of Multicast and MPLS. He has implemented mLDP in IOS and IOS-XR and is (co)-author of many IETF drafts related to Multicast, MPLS and mVPN technologies
Bertrand joined Cisco in 1997 as Consulting System engineer and afterwards joined NOSTG as a Product Manager. Bertrand has 20 years expertise in BGP, IP routing and MPLS technologies.
Bertrand previously worked as a Development and Integration Development Manager for large service providers
